Website design

Website design in San Diego.

I'm Jefferson Vance, a San Diego designer and developer. I build custom coded websites for small businesses and product brands: fast, clean, easy to read on a phone, and built so the brand, photos and copy all match. For clients who would rather manage content themselves, I also work in existing tools like Shopify and Framer.

What I build

Websites for businesses that need the site to look like the brand and load fast on a phone.

Custom coded websites

Hand built pages with clean markup, sized images and no bloated page builder, so the site loads quickly and stays easy to maintain.

Design and layout

Structure, type and spacing worked out in the browser, not just a static mockup, so what you approve is what goes live.

Existing platforms

Already on Shopify or Framer? I design and build within those tools rather than forcing a rebuild, when that is the better fit for how you work.

Content and visuals

I shoot product photography and build 3D renders, so the images on your site can be produced in the same project as the design.

Start with the brand

A website is where the brand gets used the most. If the logo, type and colors are not settled yet, I design the identity first so the site is built on something stable.

Process

How a website project works

  1. 01

    Free call

A short conversation about your business, what the site needs to do and where your content is coming from.

  2. 02

    Fixed quote

You get a written quote covering pages, design, build and any photography or 3D before work starts.

  3. 03

    Structure and page design

We agree on the page list and what goes on each one, then I design the key pages.

  4. 04

    Build

The approved design is built out, with the images produced and optimized as part of the process.

  5. 05

    Review and launch

You review on desktop and phone, we make the final edits, and the site goes live.

Brand and web direction for a coffee company

As a co-founder of White Rabbit Coffee, I led its creative and marketing direction. The project scope included web design, brand identity, visual design and photography, with marketing assets used across social platforms and events.

Pricing

How much does a website cost?

Every site gets a fixed quote after a free call, so you know the full price before work starts. The price depends on:

  • How many pages and how complex each one is
  • Whether the design and brand are already established
  • Whether you need new photography, 3D or copy
  • Whether the site is custom coded or built in a platform you already use

For ongoing website work, compare the available monthly plans and agree on the scope before starting. See the monthly plans.

Learn more about how I work and how I can help you and your business take the next step.

01Do you build on Shopify or Framer?
Shopify and Framer are part of my toolset. On the first call, we can discuss your existing platform and the functionality you need before agreeing on the build.
02Will my site work on phones?
Yes. Pages are designed and reviewed on phone and desktop before launch.
03Can you write the content?
I structure the pages and write the headings and section copy as part of the design. Longer editorial content or technical copy may need your input.
04Do you handle photos for the site?
Yes. I shoot product photography and build 3D renders, so the images can be produced in the same project instead of sourced separately.
05Can you update an existing site instead of rebuilding?
Sometimes. On the first call we look at what you have and whether an update or a rebuild is the better use of your budget.
