Motion graphics

Motion graphics in San Diego.

I design and animate motion graphics for brands: animated titles, logo animation, lower thirds, explainer graphics, visual effects and CGI, built for video, ads, product pages and social media.

What I animate

Motion graphics built around where they will run, from a logo sting on an ad to a full set of explainer graphics inside a longer video.

Animated titles and typography

Title sequences, lower thirds, captions and kinetic type that match your brand instead of a stock template.

Logo animation and stings

Your logo brought to life for intros, outros, ads and social, in the aspect ratios each platform actually uses.

Explainer and callout graphics

Diagrams, labels and callouts that show how a product or process works, layered over your footage or shown on their own.

Visual effects and CGI

Visual effects, CGI elements and 3D objects composited into live footage, or rendered as standalone animated shots.

Motion graphics and video from one person

I also shoot and direct video, so the motion work is designed with the footage in mind. Titles, callouts and effects are built to sit correctly in the cut, and the graphics can be handed back as part of a finished piece or as standalone files.

How a motion graphics project works

  1. 01

Free call and a fixed quote

We talk about what needs animating, where it will run and your deadline. You get a fixed quote before work starts.

  2. 02

    Style and storyboard

I agree the look, the pacing and the sequence with you before any animation begins.

  3. 03

    Design frames

Key frames are designed first, so the style and typography are signed off before they are set in motion.

  4. 04

    Animation

The approved frames are animated, with effects and any 3D or CGI elements composited in.

  5. 05

    Review and delivery

You review the animation and send feedback, then receive the final files sized for the screens and platforms you need.

Pricing

How much do motion graphics cost?

Every project gets a fixed quote after a free call, so you know the full price before work starts. The price depends on:

  • How long the animation runs, and how many versions you need
  • Whether the graphics sit over existing footage or stand alone
  • How much design and illustration has to be built from scratch
  • Visual effects, CGI and 3D elements, which add time

For ongoing work, motion graphics are included in the Unlimited PRO plan. See the monthly plans.

Learn more about how I work and how I can help you and your business take the next step.

01Can you animate a logo you did not design?
Yes. Send the logo in whatever format you have, ideally vector, and I will build the animation around it.
02Can you add graphics to video that was already shot?
Yes. I can take existing footage and add titles, lower thirds, callouts, effects and full graphic sequences to it.
03Do you do 3D and CGI as part of motion work?
Yes. 3D objects, CGI elements and visual effects can be built and composited into the animation or the live footage.
04What files do I get?
The finished animation as a video file, plus transparent background versions where you need them, sized for the platforms you plan to use.
05Can you match graphics to my brand?
Yes. I design brands as well, so the typography, colors and pacing are built to match your existing identity rather than a generic template.
